About Our Disciplines

Ryer Martial Arts Academy offers a unique selection of martial arts disciplines to train in.

We encourage our students to acquire a well-rounded foundation of martial arts skills and philosophies.

The disciplines taught at Ryer Martial Arts Academy include the empty-hand martial art of American Kenpo Karate, the grappling-based martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the weapon-based martial art of the Counterpoint Tactical System, and the Filipino-based martial art of Doce Pares Eskrima and Eskrido.

Students in our Pre-School, Youth, and Teen Programs are offered instruction in the Counterpoint Tactical System.  Students in our Adult Martial Arts Program are offered instruction in all of the martial arts disciplines we have available and attendance is based on their own personal preference.

Each martial arts discipline we offer is standardized and is structured by belt ranks.

Students in all disciplines are given the opportunity to test for rank after all requirements are met.
